I’ll get back to you within two business days.

  • My work draws from both psychotherapy and coaching traditions. Therapy often focuses on emotional experience, personal history, and patterns that may be affecting your well-being or relationships. Coaching tends to emphasize clarity, intention, and forward movement.

In practice, these approaches often complement one another. Our work together may include reflection, emotional exploration, meaning-making, and thoughtful attention to the direction you want your life to take.

  • I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Macalester College, and an Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. I completed a post-graduate fellowship at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in NYC and am a certified Gestalt therapist. I am an LCSW licensed in New York and Maine.

For two decades, I have attended many additional trainings, including IFS, Internal Family Systems, couples therapy theory and practice, along with meditation and mindfulness trainings. I had a private practice in psychotherapy for many years in NYC, and have also been a partner in an executive coaching firm, Collaborative Coaching.

I am a lifelong student. Through on-going learning, I seek to support my own growth and the growth of my clients.

  • You do not need to decide this on your own. Many people come with a general sense of what they would like to explore, but are unsure which offering fits best.

In our initial conversation we can talk about what brings you here, and together we can determine whether individual therapy, midlife work, life review, or another approach feels most appropriate.

  • I offer both in-person sessions locally in Portland and virtual sessions, depending on your location and preference.

Many clients appreciate the flexibility of virtual meetings, while others prefer the experience of meeting in person. We can discuss what works best for you.

  • The length of the work varies depending on each person's goals and circumstances. Some people engage for several months around a particular transition or question, while others continue longer as part of an ongoing process of personal growth and reflection.

We periodically check in about how the work is unfolding so that the process remains aligned with your needs.

  • At this time I do not bill insurance directly nor am I on any insurance panels. However, depending on your plan, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

I am a licensed LCSW psychotherapist in New York State and Maine.

If helpful, I can provide documentation that you may submit to your insurance provider.

  • Fees vary depending on the type and structure of the work we decide to do together. I’m happy to discuss current fees during our initial conversation so that you have a clear understanding before beginning.

Session fees are payable at the start of each meeting and may be made via Venmo, Zelle, check, or cash. A limited number of sliding-scale spaces may be available depending on circumstances.

  • I tend to work best with individuals who are thoughtful, curious, and open to reflection. Many of my clients are professionals, leaders, caregivers, or creatives who are functioning well in their lives but feel drawn to deeper exploration, growth, or meaning-making.

The people who benefit most from this work are often willing to look honestly at themselves, consider new perspectives, and engage with both insight and challenge as part of the process.

My practice is best suited for individuals who are generally stable in their day-to-day functioning and are seeking reflective, growth-oriented work. If someone requires a higher level of support or more specialized care, I am always happy to help guide them toward appropriate resources.

  • The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you here.

We will talk about what is currently unfolding in your life, what you hope to explore, and any questions you may have about how I work. This conversation also allows us to consider whether working together feels like a good fit.

Many people find that simply beginning the conversation brings a sense of clarity and relief. There is no expectation to have everything figured out — curiosity and openness are more than enough to start.
